This smooth white tolex/wheat/gold grille was the only source of Fender reverb for the amps of that era – an external, add-on unit. It was, however, a tube reverb unit and blended nicely with the tube amp sound. Later internal combo reverb setups were also tube-powered, but used a spring in a sack to add extra “pizzazz” to the echo. Controls were Dwell, Mixer and Tone. M I
