This bass was issued in May of 1973, when the "transition" from the full-featured Deluxe appointments had begun. The bass has the desirable checkerboard binding on the body and a toaster pickup placed 1/2 in. from the neck; it lacks the "gap-tooth" aluminum bridge/tailpiece and has triangle fretboard inlays vs. full width inlays.
