1954 was first year of issue for the Combo series. This guitar was one of the first Rickenbacker 6-string solid body guitars made and probably the first one with a "custom color" painted finish as opposed to the “blonde” or "natural" finishes common to the 600 and 800 Combos of that era. Note the gold metal short pickguard and single-coil pickup; clear speed knobs. Note also the original metallic green finish paint on the nut, neck and headstock.
