This early solidbody Combo is a very fine example of one of Rickenbacker’s earliest two-pickup solidbody guitars. Unlike the 600 and 800 single-pickup Combo series, with bolt-on necks and chambered bodies, the 850 had a solid body with the glued-in set-neck joint visible on the backside of the guitar and a “toaster-top” pickup in the neck position.
