This is a transition model showing yet another variation, as can be seen by the headstock decal with the “Jazzmaster” logo in larger script ending at the high “E” tuner. This headstock logo design lasted through the ‘70s for the Jazzmaster model. The finish on the front of this guitar has faded into a copper-toned color; the original Candy Apple Red finish shows under the guard and on the back. The neckplate is a very late “L” series number, not an “F” plate; hence the 1965 designation. Black OHSC.
